A Guide to My Favorite Music Venues in Chicago…and Their Neighboring Bars

five

A lot of people ask me about the music scene in Chicago and I’m hoping that this post can be used as a guide that people can return to in order to learn more about the unique music venues in Chicago. I feel like I’ve been to so many of them (I’ve been to all of the ones I’ve listed below except one), and it’s awesome that the city is so massive that I probably won’t ever actually get to every single venue.

I have been working on this blog post for awhile, but I had so many ideas for it that I needed time to really draw out how I wanted it to go. Thank you to those who voted on my Twitter and Instagram polls on what you wanted to see: it helped so much!

Ten Shows to See in Chicago This Fall

interior design

September 1st marks the (unofficial) start of fall and I’m too excited for these shows hitting Chicago in the next few months.

There are SO many great artists visiting Chicago during the fall but I chose to highlight these 10! I’m hoping to get to at least half of these (I have tickets to four of them so far), and I hope that you learn something or even buy tickets after reading this post!

Concert Review: Dua Lipa

JAPANESE-2

Just a little over a month ago, my 2017 concert lineup continued strongly with a performance from Dua Lipa, the British pop sensation whose unbelievably 2016 skyrocketed her to a hectic 2017. If you’ve read any of my posts before, you know that I thrive on continuity and love being able to revisit artists and write about them multiple times.

I’ve written about Lipa on a handful of posts (like this one and another one here), it was so exciting to see her shine at her own show – not to mention it was the first show of her winter tour and was sold out: Chicago never disappoints.

Ten Shows To See This Fall Under $25

the-new-you-3

A lot of people tend to ask me how I can afford going to as many shows as I do – and my response is always that nearly every show I go to costs less than $25. Sure, I will splurge on a few shows here and there, but the majority of them tend to be pretty affordable.

Chicago has a fantastic music scene and we have so many venues, I am honestly never bored and it’s amazing that this is the city I get to spend my college years in.
