I have been counting down the days until the 2015 Billboard Music Awards. I absolutely love award shows and the Red Carpet is definitely my favorite part of the star studded events. I was particularly excited for this year’s show because my girl Taylor Swift was nominated for a whopping 14 awards! Not only was she a big winner tonight, winning 8 of those awards, but she also premiered her new music video for her song “Bad Blood,” which featured an all star celebrity cast. Watch the video here.
I personally think the video was fantastic, and having Kendrick Lamar do a remix of the track for her is arguably one of her smartest career moves. Shortly after the premiere of the video, Taylor quickly won her first award of the night for “Top Billboard 200 Album.”
Some of my favorite highlights of the evening included Ed Sheeran’s performance of “Bloodstream,” Tori Kelly’s beautiful performance of “Nobody Love,” Imagine Dragon’s cover of “Stand by Me,” and last but not least, Kanye West’s performance of “Black Skinhead,” despite the majority of the performance being muted due to mature lyrics.
I really hoped that girl group Fifth Harmony would receive a slot to perform their hit song “Worth It,” but they are just picking up momentum on the charts now. Hopefully next year they will be able to sing.
I was also extremely disappointed with the number of performers who lip synced: (Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears, and Chris Brown, I’m definitely looking at you).

Guiliana Rancic, Taylor Swift, Zendaya
